Well, I've survived both Year 11 and (more importantly) Year 12 and now I've got a summer break that lasts for like four months xD The longest summer holiday I'll ever have, unless I take a gap year, which I won't because I can't be bothered working out what part of the world I'd like to travel to.
I did go to the local Salvador Dali exhibition recently, "Liquid Desires". It was great, I really didn't like Dali very much before I went and saw the exhibition but it was really impressive how he manages to be so hyper-realistic in his craft while at the same time his works are constantly in motion, undulating or flowing or breaking apart. And he's so versatile in what areas of art he can succeed in - I even saw a collaborative animation project he did with Disney. It was probably the best thing of the whole exhibition, just seeing Disney meet Dali in a ~10min animation short. And (I bet I said this a lot about his work) it was so RANDOM. As it was Disney, it was loosely contrived as a love story between the amorphic female figure and the amorphic male figure, but then near the end there's this baseball game for some reason. Just can't describe it.
All right, now for some bad news - I haven't got access to Photoshop anymore, until my brother finishes cleaning up his computer and gives it to me. It's because I installed photoshop on my school laptop, then since I've had to return that to school, I've only got one more chance to install it on another computer under that license, and at the moment I'm just drifting between all the other computers in the house.
Before you ask, yes, I did try to deactivate Photoshop on my laptop before sending it away. The procedure is to go Help > Deactivate, right? Well because Adobe is retarded they didn't put "Deactivate" under the help menu of my version of CS3 Extended, nor under ANY OTHER menu, and they didn't include any help article about how to deactivate, except to say that you go "Help > Deactivate". How or why anyone would neglect to put a simple button where they said it should be, I don't know. But I do still have the ability to install the software on a second computer. If it becomes a problem then I'll just have to call Adobe.
So I guess until then, I won't be submitting much of anything the way of art, as I do kind of depend on my Photoshop, but I've still got a lot of ideas floating around for what to do after I do get it back.
